What is the Ohio Society of Respiratory Care (OSRC)?

The OSRC is a not for profit organization that is a chartered affiliate of the American Association for Respiratory Care.  In it's attempt to serve the needs of Respiratory Therapists in the state of Ohio, the OSRC has four main goals:

Who are members of the OSRC ?

Any respiratory therapist who is a member of the AARC is automatically a member of the OSRC!

To become a member of the OSRC and the AARC go to the AARC website and select "Member Services".  You may click here to Join or Renew your membership!  

For your convenience, you can purchase a discounted membership directly through the OSRC.  Our group purchasing power allows therapists to purchase a voucher at a discounted rate.  Go to the membership section of our OSRC website for more information.

How do I become a member of the OSRC?

By becoming a member of the AARC, or by renewing your membership, you are considered a member of the OSRC.

What are the benefits of membership in the OSRC?

In addition to your AARC member benefits, you also gain the added benefits associated with your state membership.  Amongst those are nearby access to your representatives, the elected officers and your district representatives.  Additionally, there are legislative efforts where the OSRC is always fighting for you.

Who are the officers of the OSRC?

Officers in the OSRC are elected by you!  They can be found on the Board of Directors list.

What are the other roles in the OSRC?

District Representatives, Various committees (program planning, legislative, public relations, elections,  etc.)  Committees such as program planning are instrumental in bringing you a great state meeting every year!

What district am I in?

Ohio is divided into 6 districts.  Your district is based on the county you LIVE in, not the county you WORK in (even though they may be same).

Central District - Athens, Belmont, Coshocton, Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin,  Gallia, Guernsey, Hocking, Jackson, Knox, Lawrence Licking, Madison, Marion, Morgan, Meigs, Monroe, Morrow, Muskingum, Noble, Perry, Pickaway, Pike, Richland, Ross, Scioto, Union, Vinton,  and Washington counties.

Eastern District - Ashland, Carroll, Columbiana, Harrison, Holmes, Jefferson, Mahoning, Portage, Stark, Summit, Trumbell, Tuscarawas, and Wayne counties.

Northeast - Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, and Medina counties.

Northwest - Allen, Auglaize, Crawford, Defiance, Erie, Fulton, Hancock, Hardin, Henry, Huron, Lucas, Mercer, Ottawa, Paulding, Putnam, Sandusky, Seneca, Van Wert, Williams, and Wyandot counties.

Southern - Adams, Brown, Butler, Clermont, Hamilton, and Highland counties.

Western - Champaign, Clark, Clinton, Darke, Greene, Logan, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, Shelby, and Warren, counties.

What are delegates?

Delegates are elected officials from your state who serve in the "House of Delegates" at the AARC.  They are your representatives and are responsible for voting on issues that affect the OSRC. They serve as officials elected by you
